Junior/Mid-level Designer - US Based Only
Yo! Is it you? You with the sharpened eye for details and the “I can make that look better” energy. Azai Studios in Brooklyn, NY is officially on the hunt for a Junior Designer. Think of this as your chance to join a studio that works with outlier founders, chaos-friendly startups, luxe brands, tech weirdos, and all the people trying to bend reality a little. You will be the one supporting the magic behind the scenes: polishing, refining, building, tweaking, and generally making us look like we know what we are doing. We do, mostly.
Location: Remote (US-based only)
Optional: Pop into our Brooklyn office if you are nearby
Status: Part-time role
Salary: Depends on experience + eligibility for profit sharing
Okay look, we will keep this short-ish. At Azai Studios, we take the wildest ideas from half-genius, half-delusional entrepreneurs and turn them into something the world actually cares about. We work across brand identity, digital design, UI and UX, storytelling, and visual worlds that get people’s attention without screaming for it.
We work in hospitality, luxury goods, music, beverages, real estate, finance, aviation, tech, and whatever new universe a founder drags us into next. You might be crafting social graphics for a premium seltzer brand on Monday and building a landing page for a fintech startup claiming to reinvent something important on Tuesday. You will help bring order, beauty, and a little attitude to everything we touch.
About the Role
As a Junior Designer, your job is to support our senior creatives and help bring ideas to life with taste, discipline, and an almost suspicious level of attention to detail. You will work across existing brand systems, digital design, landing pages, decks, social content, and whatever else the day demands.
You are not expected to lead the room or reinvent the wheel. Not yet. But you are expected to roll in with initiative, curiosity, and an “okay, I will figure it out” approach. You will sit in on client calls, take notes, absorb everything, and help turn strategic concepts into clean, polished deliverables that do not require Savannah or Japna to cry themselves to sleep.
What You Will Do
- Support production design across brand systems, digital layouts, landing pages, and visual assets.
- Create clean, on-brand social graphics, marketing visuals, and slides for decks.
- Prep and export assets for development, motion, client use, and internal workflow.
- Help build landing pages and simple web layouts in Figma with an eye for structure, hierarchy, and taste.
- Conduct internal QA on files, exports, web builds, and anything else that must look immaculate,
- Work closely with our Design Lead and Account Leads on day-to-day tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Join client calls as a silent observer, taking notes and understanding creative direction without needing to present anything.
- Bring initiative, organization, and self-teaching energy to every task.
Who You Are
- You have 1 to 3 years of experience working as a designer. Agency experience or real client work is required.
- You are great in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Not “I watched a tutorial once” great. Actually great.
- You are self-initiated, curious, and motivated to get better every week.
- You can handle feedback, iteration, and the occasional curveball without melting.
- You can navigate ambiguity and make tasteful, logical decisions independently.
- You love branding, digital design, typography, layouts, and the craft of making things look considered.
- You have taste. Real taste. As in: no Canva templates, no logo factories, no Fiverr-branding energy.
- UI and Web design experience is a plus.
- Motion design experience is a mega plus.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of design experience
- A strong portfolio that shows branding, digital design, layouts, and real client work
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Suite
